Director - Logistics & Supply Chain

About the role

The Director of Logistics & Supply Chain will lead all inbound, internal and external material movements for Bosch in Florence. You will be responsible for supplier performance, customer satisfaction, transportation cost efficiency, inventory accuracy and turnover.

Key responsibilities

• Define vision, strategy and priorities for logistics, benchmark information and material flow, and create aligned road‑maps.
• Oversee customer logistics interface, monitor ratings and implement corrective actions.
• Drive automation and digitalisation in planning, physical logistics, warehouse management and material flow.
• Partner with value‑stream teams to achieve high service levels at optimal cost, using advanced planning systems and consignment concepts.
• Ensure economical transport coordination and high service quality.
• Design, procure and manage packaging for customers and suppliers, including container tracking.
• Supervise physical logistics operations, storage, stock rotation and internal deliveries.
• Set up SAP logistics configurations for system optimisation.
• Manage shipping compliance with labeling, windows, paperwork and electronic communication.
• Implement ECOs to eliminate obsolete material and coach suppliers to avoid critical deliveries.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives, Lean Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 solutions such as RFID and fleet analytics.
