Director of Rooms

About the role

The Director of Rooms will lead the Rooms Division of a flagship location, ensuring premium service and quality for guests across short‑stay, long‑stay, and everything in between. Reporting to the General Manager, you will shape the Stay Product and drive operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the Front Office, Housekeeping and Maintenance managers.
• Prioritise guest and team experiences, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
• Collaborate with Directors of F&B, Memberships and Stay to optimise cross‑departmental processes.
• Develop and execute Rooms strategies that enhance guest experience and meet revenue targets.
• Integrate sustainability and eco‑friendly practices in line with future B Corp goals.
• Use data analytics to optimise operations, improve guest satisfaction and identify growth opportunities.
• Maintain high standards of quality, service and cleanliness.
• Handle guest feedback proactively and ensure swift resolution.
• Manage the Rooms budget, control costs, drive revenue and monitor financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, licensing and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a Rooms Management role, preferably in a property with 250‑300 rooms.
• Proven leadership experience within the Rooms Division, with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
• Strong change‑management skills and a track record of process improvement.
• Financial competence in budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
