Early Childhood Assistant – Toronto

About the role

The Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) works alongside a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children from infancy to school‑age. This position is based in one of our licensed centres in Toronto and contributes directly to the daily learning experiences of each child.

Key responsibilities

• Support the RECE in planning and delivering age‑appropriate activities and curriculum.
• Observe, assess, and respond to the individual needs of each child.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and health‑compliant classroom environment.
• Communicate openly with parents, providing updates on child progress and daily events.
• Report any concerns or incidents following centre procedures.
• Collaborate positively with team members, fostering a supportive workplace culture.

Required profile

• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Up‑to‑date immunizations and a two‑tiered TB test.
• Comfortable working with all age groups, from infants to school‑age children.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviours and communicate effectively with families.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• First Aid and CPR competency.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards for early childhood settings.
