EHS Specialist Italy

About the role

The EHS Specialist will be employed by BASF Agricultural Solutions Italy and will manage EHS and RSPP responsibilities for BASF small sites across Italy. The role ensures compliance with Italian health and safety legislation and internal BASF standards while promoting a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the EHS management system, including Responsible Care requirements.
• Promote safety culture through campaigns, training, Safety Days and Behavior‑Based Safety programs.
• Monitor regulatory developments and implement required actions for health, safety, environment, process safety and security.
• Coordinate risk assessments, incident investigations, corrective actions, emergency preparedness and site safety reviews.
• Support environmental compliance activities such as emissions, water and waste management, supplier audits and environmental assessments.
• Coordinate EHS representatives across sites, monitor action plans and support management reviews.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external service providers, contractors, authorities and regional EHS teams to drive operational excellence.

Required profile

• Degree in EHS, Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Health, Safety & Environment roles, preferably in manufacturing or chemical sites.
• Solid knowledge of Italian Health & Safety legislation (D.Lgs. 81/08) and RSPP responsibilities.
• Residence in Bologna or surrounding area and willingness to travel regularly to assigned sites.
