Engagement Manager – Energy & Natural Resources, Milan

About the role

Oliver Wyman is seeking an Engagement Manager to lead transformational projects for C‑suite clients in the Energy & Natural Resources sector from its Milan office. You will work with Italian and international clients on strategic choices that shape the energy transition.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex, high‑impact engagements with C‑suite clients from problem definition through recommendation and implementation.
• Advise senior executives on strategy, growth, transformation, performance improvement, energy transition and decarbonisation.
• Build trusted client relationships, shape executive discussions and act as a go‑to advisor in the sector.
• Contribute to commercial development, proposals and practice growth across Italy and Europe.
• Develop high‑quality intellectual capital, thought leadership and connect clients to Oliver Wyman capabilities.
• Direct and develop project teams, provide coaching and foster an inclusive environment.
• Participate in recruiting, talent development and broader firm initiatives.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of relevant experience, preferably in a top‑tier strategy consulting firm or comparable advisory environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in Energy & Natural Resources sectors such as utilities, power & gas, energy infrastructure or private capital.
• Proven record of leading complex strategy and transformation projects.
• Strong commercial contribution experience, including business development and proposal work.
• Ability to lead, coach and develop high‑performing, diverse teams.
• Excellent structured problem‑solving, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in Italian and English.
• Master’s degree or MBA with a strong academic record.
• Willingness to travel within Italy and internationally.
