Facilities & Health & Safety Assistant (Part‑time)

About the role

The Part‑time Facilities and Health & Safety Assistant supports daily operations, maintenance and safety across all HFIS campuses. Reporting to the Facilities and H&S Manager, you will help ensure that buildings, grounds and equipment are well‑maintained, safe and compliant with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Facilities and H&S Manager in coordinating daily maintenance, cleaning and repair tasks.
• Conduct regular site checks, report issues promptly and liaise with contractors to ensure safe, standard‑compliant work.
• Support set‑up, dismantling and movement of equipment and furniture for school activities, meetings and events.
• Maintain records, file invoices, quotes and service reports, and prioritize maintenance requests.
• Help implement H&S policies, conduct routine inspections of fire safety, first‑aid and emergency equipment, and maintain related documentation.
• Coordinate H&S training, drills and the management of hazardous materials.
• Provide on‑site support for events, ensuring proper set‑up, safety and security procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in facilities, maintenance or H&S support, preferably in an educational setting.
• Good understanding of building safety and maintenance practices.
• Strong organisational, multitasking and communication abilities.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for school events.
• Valid driver’s licence.

• Salary range €22,000‑€26,000 gross per year.
