Field Service Technician – Transformers (On‑site)

About the role

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to perform on‑site service activities on transformers across Italy. The role involves installation, commissioning, routine maintenance and customer interaction to ensure high‑quality service and identify new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Execute installation, commissioning and routine maintenance of transformer equipment independently.
• Diagnose technical problems on‑site or remotely and perform analysis across service categories such as oil treatment and accessory replacement.
• Carry out electrical cabling for new accessories and digital devices.
• Coordinate subcontractors to fulfil the defined scope of work.
• Prepare and deliver documentation and reports for customer sign‑off.
• Track and report completed work promptly, ensuring follow‑up when required.
• Troubleshoot simple equipment failures and propose preventive measures.
• Apply safety and environmental rules, reporting unsafe practices or incidents.

Required profile

• Electrical Technical diploma.
• Fluent in Italian and English.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transformer field service.
• Flexibility, independence and strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel 100 % across Italy.
