Finance Controller

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Finance Controller for its Italian subsidiary within the Protein Diagnostics Division. The role supports accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with Italian GAAP, and contributes to the company’s growth by providing robust accounting and control processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and year‑end accounting vouchers, journal entries, accruals, and financial analysis.
• Manage VAT registers, quarterly (LIPE) and annual VAT declarations.
• Update fixed assets, calculate depreciation, and handle asset disposals.
• Analyse customer collections, produce bank updates and monthly collection reports.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and withholding‑tax calculations.
• Execute statutory and tax compliance activities, including preparation of statutory accounting registers.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, approval matrices, and standard operating procedures.
• Identify and recommend operational improvements and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance, accounting, or controllership within an Italian business environment.
• Strong knowledge of Italian GAAP, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external audit teams and business partners.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
