Food Certification Business Development Manager

About the role

RINA is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth of its Food Certification services within Italy. The role will focus on expanding the order intake pipeline, securing contracts, and building strategic partnerships across the Mediterranean & Africa Certification Division.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the sales pipeline to ensure a steady flow of orders.
• Identify and add new prospects, conducting research to assess fit with RINA’s offerings.
• Lead negotiations, prepare tenders and quotations, and close major contracts.
• Capture lessons learned from completed contracts to improve future processes.
• Collaborate with internal departments to identify cross‑selling and mutual opportunities.
• Track competitor activities and provide market intelligence.
• Generate new sales opportunities through client visits and relationship management.
• Identify and explore alliances and partnerships to enter new markets.
• Engage with customers to understand needs, support satisfaction, and develop new market segments.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales or a related field.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong negotiation and closing skills.
• Analytical mindset to assess market trends and competitor activity.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a multi‑regional pipeline.
