Footwear Engineer – Technical Development & Industrialization

About the role

Diadora is seeking an experienced Footwear Engineer to act as the technical bridge between Design, Product Development, and Production. Based in Montebelluna, you will work cross‑functionally with Product, Quality, and Innovation teams to turn creative concepts into scalable, high‑performance shoes that meet cost and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and fine‑tune prototypes, analysing construction, functionality and aesthetics.
• Coordinate industrialisation with Far‑East teams and suppliers.
• Validate technical tech packs and spec sheets for production readiness.
• Apply value‑engineering to optimise material use and control costs.
• Analyse project risks (scalability, durability, comfort) and propose alternatives.
• Ensure sample compliance with quality standards and support QC on the production line.
• Provide technical support for athlete‑focused and customisation projects.
• Collaborate on research of new materials and technologies, validating them through lab and field tests.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in footwear engineering, preferably in the sports sector.
• Strong understanding of footwear manufacturing processes and pattern‑making techniques.
• Ability to evaluate technical materials and interpret laboratory test results.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a focus on cost optimisation and quality.
