Forward-Deployed AI Architect

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Forward‑Deployed AI Architect to lead the technical delivery of an AI‑assisted operations platform for a travel‑disruption client. You will translate operational knowledge and existing software into a testable system with human approvals and traceable decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Establish an evidence‑based technical baseline, inspect code, infrastructure and APIs, and produce concise specifications.
• Build and review critical components, prove an end‑to‑end path in the client’s test environment, and verify API access, event contracts and error handling.
• Design maintainable rule structures separating operational facts, business policies and software logic, supporting versioned updates and rollback.
• Review and test code (including AI‑generated code), set up automated CI checks, integration tests and decision logs, and define quality and cost metrics.
• Maintain clear architecture and decision records, raise blockers early, propose alternatives and ensure a maintainable handover.

Required profile

• Proven experience taking applied AI or LLM‑enabled workflows from prototype to operational use.
• Strong hands‑on software engineering, architecture and API integration skills.
• Ability to turn incomplete or conflicting discovery material into implementable specifications.
• Sound judgment on structured rules, AI reasoning and human review, including failure modes.
• Confident communicator who can challenge assumptions and escalate decisions constructively.
