Fully-funded 1-year Post-Doc in Antimicrobial PNA Development

About the role

We are offering a fully‑funded, one‑year post‑doctoral research contract (with possible extension) within the BactEradiX project. The role focuses on the design and synthesis of antimicrobial peptide nucleic acids (PNAs), artificial DNases, and PNA‑containing lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). You will work closely with two PhD students in a multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and synthesize modified PNAs using solid‑phase peptide synthesis.
• Develop artificial DNase molecules targeting bacterial DNA.
• Formulate and optimise PNA‑loaded lipid nanoparticles.
• Collaborate with PhD candidates and interdisciplinary teams.
• Document experimental results and contribute to scientific publications.

Required profile

• PhD in Organic, Industrial or Pharmaceutical Chemistry (LM‑13, LM‑54, LM‑71 or equivalent).
• Experience in solid‑phase peptide synthesis (mandatory).
• Strong background in target‑oriented organic chemistry.
• Willingness to engage in inter‑sectoral and interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Proactive and respectful attitude toward colleagues and new ideas.
