About the role

The General Accountant will safeguard the financial integrity of Auberge Collection’s flagship hotel in Florence. You will ensure accurate recording, classification, and reporting of all transactions while supporting cost‑control initiatives and compliance. This position provides the analytical insight needed for informed decision‑making and sustainable profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee core financial accounting processes, ensuring accurate recording, classification, and reporting of all transactions.
• Monitor expenses and support cost‑control initiatives, identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies and improved profitability.
• Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies, mitigating risk and safeguarding the hotel’s financial standing.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation, reconciliations, and detailed explanations.
• Perform regular account reconciliations, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly accruals for services and prepaid schedules, ensuring accurate period‑end reporting.
• Conduct monthly cash register counts and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Prepare the monthly global invoice with accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, providing actionable recommendations to management.
