General Operator – Cryogenic Production

About the role

Chart Industries is seeking a General Operator to join its Cryogenic division in Ornago, Italy. You will work on production machinery, ensuring safety and quality while contributing to the manufacture of pressure equipment and insulation tanks for the oil & gas and automotive sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Operate production machinery safely, following company procedures and safety regulations.
• Contribute to the production of components and finished products, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Position tanks in the assigned department and set up equipment for assigned tasks.
• Manage operations using a PLC‑controlled semi‑automatic process.
• Perform TIG/MIG welding as required.

Required profile

• Technical high school diploma (preferably mechanics) or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in metalworking; experience in pressure vessel or cryogenic sectors is a plus.
• Proficiency with workshop and metal‑fabrication equipment.
• Ability to read technical/mechanical drawings.
• Basic welding skills (TIG/MIG) or willingness to undergo in‑house training.
• Preferred certifications for operating overhead cranes, aerial work platforms (AWP) and mobile aerial platforms (MAP).
• Punctual, reliable, curious and proactive attitude.
