Head Butler – Luxury Villa

About the role

The Head Butler will be the cornerstone of the guest experience at Greyheath Hospitality’s new luxury villa in Griante, Italy. Reporting to the Villa Manager, this full‑time, on‑site position ensures every interaction, from arrival to departure, is delivered with precision, warmth and genuine care.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate and fulfil guest needs and preferences before they are expressed.
• Coordinate food and beverage service with the Head Chef and kitchen team for meals, private dining and events.
• Maintain impeccable presentation of all guest‑facing areas at all times.
• Liaise with housekeeping, kitchen and management teams to guarantee seamless, cross‑departmental service.
• Lead, brief and develop the butler team, setting consistent performance standards across all shifts.
• Report any presentation, maintenance or service issues to the Villa Manager with recommended actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Head Butler, Butler or senior guest‑service role in luxury hotels, resorts or private villas.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a service team while maintaining high standards.
• Strong knowledge of fine‑dining and beverage service standards and experience working closely with chefs.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to anticipate guest preferences.
• Discreet, polished and professional demeanor, capable of handling sensitive situations with tact.
• Excellent cross‑departmental coordination skills.
• Fluent English; additional European languages (Italian, French) are a plus.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Griante with flexible evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Valid work authorization for Italy.
