HSE Manager – Health, Safety & Environment

About the role

The HSE Manager will lead health, safety and environmental initiatives at a Campari manufacturing site, working closely with the regional HSE team to adapt global programs to local needs. Reporting to the Plant Director and the Regional HSE Manager, the role shifts the factory from reactive compliance to proactive excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Responsible for Prevention and Protection Service (RSPP) under Legislative Decree 81/08, overseeing risk assessments, preventive measures, safety procedures and worker training.
• Drive HSE leadership across all levels, promote accountability and continuous improvement in safety culture.
• Escalate significant HSE risks, ensure legal and corporate requirements are met, and serve as primary contact for regulators, auditors and insurers.
• Maintain compliance with environmental permits, emissions, wastewater, waste management, chemical storage and reporting obligations.
• Develop and improve HSE management systems, manage ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certifications, and implement global performance‑enhancing programs.
• Oversee Life Protecting Systems such as fall protection, confined‑space entry, lock‑out, fire protection, hazardous chemicals, pressure vessels and electrical safety.
• Ensure crisis and emergency preparedness, and provide guidance to factory leadership on HSE requirements.

Required profile

• In‑depth knowledge of Italian Legislative Decree 81/08 and related statutory HSE obligations.
• Proven experience leading HSE functions in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interact with regulatory authorities, external auditors and insurers.
• Experience managing ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certification processes.
• Strong analytical skills to assess risks and develop preventive measures.
