HSE Manager – International Project

About the role

Intertek is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead health, safety and environmental activities on an international construction project. The role involves ensuring compliance with client safety plans, local regulations and company standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret client safety documentation (e.g., Safety and Coordination Plan) and applicable legal requirements.
• Maintain up‑to‑date site‑specific safety documentation and integrate it with the Health and Safety Management System.
• Prepare, update and communicate emergency and evacuation plans based on actual site conditions.
• Coordinate procurement and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all personnel and visitors.
• Organise safety training and orientation sessions covering site‑specific risks and procedures.
• Verify that all personnel, vehicles and equipment possess approved safety documentation before site access.
• Assist the Site Manager in reviewing subcontractor documentation and obtaining necessary authorisations.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of HSE experience in metal‑working environments such as steelworks, oil & gas or mining.
• Experience on at least two complex construction sites (>500 man‑days) in Italy, preferably in the metalworking sector.
• Strong background in environmental compliance.
• Relevant safety certifications (RSPP and CSP/CSE).
