HV Site Manager – Utility‑Scale Solar Projects

About the role

Metlen Energy & Metals is seeking an experienced HV Site Manager to lead on‑site execution of the MV substation and MV interconnecting line for a utility‑scale solar PV project in Italy. You will work within a structured project team, coordinating with project management, engineering, HSE, QA/QC and commissioning partners to deliver high‑quality infrastructure on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Review and manage scope of work, IFC drawings, BOQ/BOM, method statements and ITPs for substation civil and electrical works.
• Supervise construction activities including earthworks, foundations, trenching, duct banks, MV switchgear, transformers, protection & control, SCADA/telecom, and MV interconnecting line installation.
• Coordinate subcontractors and site engineers, verify manpower, equipment, productivity and quality.
• Implement quality plans, manage inspections, punch lists, NCRs and close‑out documentation.
• Lead functional and line testing, support energisation and hand‑over procedures.
• Report progress and risks to the Project Manager and manage interfaces with client, grid operators and logistics.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as Site Manager or Construction Manager on substations or MV/HV infrastructure.
• Electrical engineering degree preferred or equivalent strong field experience.
• Proven ability to read electrical drawings (SLD, layouts, cable schedules) and enforce QA/QC discipline.
• Fluent in Italian and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• AutoCAD competence.
• Experience with MS Project or Primavera (preferred).
