Instrument Engineer – Design Test Benches for Energy Tech

About the role

Join the Industry & Energy Technology team to design and develop instrument systems for test benches used in prototype testing of gas turbines, compressors and other energy‑transition products. You will work with multidisciplinary engineers to introduce innovative technologies that improve profitability and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and define instrumentation requirements from client specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Select, specify and design field instruments and control valves for reliable process operation.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation such as P&IDs, instrument datasheets, wiring schematics, cable routing plans, loop diagrams and hookup drawings.
• Optimize internal design tools and standards, promoting new ideas and cost‑effective solutions.
• Support new product and technology introductions, presenting and reviewing technical and program documentation.
• Provide security architecture recommendations, risk assessments and related technical information.

Required profile

• MSc in Control, Electrical, Electronic, Industrial, Management or Computer Science Engineering.
• Proficiency in instrument design and related development tools, with solid knowledge of industry codes and standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence and motivate team members.
• Willingness to work in a multicultural environment and travel to sites or test beds for commissioning and support.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
