Integration and Start Up Engineer (Mechanical Installer)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Integration & Start‑Up Engineer (Mechanical Installer) to assemble, test and commission complex industrial equipment for semiconductor and display manufacturing. The role involves on‑site work in Italy and abroad, requiring autonomy, problem‑solving and strong mechanical drawing interpretation.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and fully integrate mechanical industrial systems and equipment.
• Perform functional tests, compliance checks and commissioning both at the factory and at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on mechanical and mechatronic components.
• Provide technical support to customers for installation, maintenance and upgrades.
• Interpret mechanical drawings, layouts and technical documentation, and produce test reports and logbooks.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or degree (post‑secondary or bachelor) related to mechanical engineering.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Ability to travel within the EU and internationally.
• Physical ability to work in dynamic environments (height work, confined spaces, manual handling).
