Internship - R&D Associate Engineer

About the role

ABB is looking for an intern to join its R&D team in Vittuone (Milan), contributing to the Smart Building business. The role reports to the R&D Team Lead and supports the strategic technology direction by proposing and helping implement innovative technology, software and solutions. The work model is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Work as a reliable contributor in R&D projects, solving problems with technical know-how in your own area of competence.
• Perform tasks such as building concepts, gathering requirements, design, implementation, integration, testing, technology transfer, maintenance and operations.
• Support assigned targets (quality, time, scope, cost) and raise and address risks.
• Stay up to date with the state of the art and apply it actively.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electric or Electronic Engineering.
• Fluent communication in both Italian and English.
• Adaptability under pressure, proactivity, problem-solving orientation and commitment to deliver results.

Required skills

• Fundamentals of electrical engineering and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of MATLAB.
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
