Java Developer

About the role

Capco, a global technology and business consultancy focused on the financial services sector, is expanding its consulting team in Italy and is looking for Java developers to help shape the evolution of the financial services industry, one project at a time. The role is based in Milan and is offered in a hybrid format.

Key responsibilities

• Support the evolution of the financial services industry on projects with some of the largest banks in the world.
• Deliver modern, first-class cloud-based platforms using best-in-class Agile ways of working.
• Write highly available, maintainable and secure code, and take part in code reviews.
• Mentor and train junior developers.

Required profile

• Excellent knowledge of Java 8+, Spring Boot, Gradle, Maven, Mockito and microservice architecture.
• Strong understanding of collections and concurrency in Java, and good knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and continuous integration with Git, Jenkins and Nexus.
• Expert knowledge of unit testing, static code analysis and BDD/TDD.
• Ability to communicate well with stakeholders and team members.

Required skills

• Object-oriented programming, with familiarity with functional programming languages.
• Agile methodologies, and ability to mentor junior developers.
• Nice to have: Terraform, event-driven architecture, Golang, serverless functions, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), OAuth2/SAML, cloud experience, QA automation tool integration, and knowledge of SOLID principles, OWASP and distributed systems design.

What we offer

• Minimum gross annual base salary from EUR 29,000, with a possible higher offer depending on experience and fit.
