Junior Reporting Analyst

About the role

The Junior Reporting Analyst supports reporting, analytics and data activities for internal teams and external clients. The role covers preparing, validating and analysing data, maintaining recurring reports and dashboards, modifying existing SQL queries and presenting results in a clear, client-ready format. It works under the guidance of the Analytics Director and senior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Run, review and modify existing SQL queries for recurring and ad-hoc reporting.
• Use intermediate Excel to organise, validate, analyse and summarise data from multiple sources.
• Perform data quality checks, validate report outputs and escalate issues when needed.
• Support the creation, maintenance and refresh of recurring reports, dashboards and KPI reporting.
• Assist with Power BI report or dashboard updates, data refresh validation and basic visualisation enhancements.
• Gather and document reporting requirements from internal stakeholders and clients, and prepare clear explanations and summaries for client-facing and internal audiences.
• Research report results, validate data and communicate findings professionally to clients.
• Assist senior analysts with reporting tasks, enhancements, analysis requests and client initiatives.
• Track and help resolve reporting issues, data inconsistencies and process questions.
• Identify trends and explain variances to support business recommendations under guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in reporting, analytics, business intelligence, data analysis or a related role; equivalent training or education may be considered.
• Preferred: exposure to business intelligence, reporting, analytics or dashboard support; Power BI dashboard development, maintenance, data visualisation or report refresh experience.
• Preferred: experience with client-facing reports, operational data, web portals, warehouse management systems or ERP systems; previous telecom, retail, customer success or operations support experience.

Required skills

• Basic-to-intermediate SQL, including running, reviewing and modifying existing queries.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel for data organisation, validation, analysis and summarisation.
• Ability to explain reporting results, trends and variances clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong organisational and documentation skills.
• Preferred: exposure to Power BI, Tableau or another BI platform, and familiarity with data visualisation concepts.
