Junior System Engineer – Industrial Automation

About the role

As a Junior System Engineer you will design, integrate and optimise complex systems that drive the semiconductor industry forward. You will work with cross‑functional teams on electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithm and software aspects while ensuring safety, reliability and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Support system engineering projects with multidisciplinary expertise (electrical, mechanical, software, algorithms).
• Contribute to system engineering specifications and draft sections related to your technical field.
• Perform and coordinate system tests, providing feedback to product engineering, physics, algorithms and software teams.
• Identify and troubleshoot moderately complex technical issues, including serviceability and manufacturability aspects.
• Assist system integration during assembly and final testing of new product designs.
• Define external equipment interfaces and ensure proper documentation of system architecture.
• Provide technical support and on‑site assistance for industrial automation systems.

Required profile

• Strong willingness to travel frequently (≈25% of time, national and international).
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of PLC programming languages (preferred: TwinCAT – Beckhoff).
• Familiarity with industrial automation concepts and related technologies.
• Hands‑on attitude with tools and equipment for installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience (even limited) in industrial automation and drive systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and electrical schematics.
• Basic understanding of software analysis and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of high‑level programming languages such as C++ and C# (a plus).
