Junior Web Developer (Remote, EMEA)

About the role

Canonical is seeking a Junior Web Developer to join its fully remote web team serving the EMEA region. You will build and maintain high‑fidelity websites and web applications, collaborating with designers, UX specialists, and backend engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain responsive web pages and applications using modern HTML, CSS (SCSS) and JavaScript frameworks.
• Develop new features and update existing content across multiple projects.
• Work closely with visual designers, UX designers, and server‑side developers to deliver polished user experiences.
• Ensure code follows accessibility standards, SEO best practices, and performance guidelines.
• Manage version control using Git and handle incoming feature or bug‑fix requests.

Required profile

• Based in an EMEA timezone (Europe, Middle East or Africa).
• University degree or equivalent education.
• Passion for web standards, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
