Legal Counsel – Employment Law Specialist

About the role

FedEx is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its Italy team. Reporting directly to the General Counsel Italy, you will lead employment‑law matters, supporting both strategic initiatives and day‑to‑day operations across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on individual and collective employment law issues to HR and management.
• Manage employment litigation and coordinate external counsel when required.
• Support major transactions such as reorganisations and restructurings from a labour‑law perspective.
• Draft, review and negotiate employment contracts, collective agreements and internal policies.
• Monitor compliance with Italian labour legislation and industrial‑relations regulations.
• Handle disciplinary procedures, dismissals and workforce‑reduction processes.

Required profile

• Law degree and admission to the Bar.
• 5‑7 years of post‑qualification experience in employment law, either in reputable law firms or corporate legal departments.
• In‑depth knowledge of Italian employment law.
• Strong negotiation, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Business‑oriented mindset with the capacity to work independently.
