Logistics Manager – Warehouse & Materials Management

About the role

We are looking for a Logistics Manager to lead our warehouse and materials management operations. The role ensures smooth inbound and outbound flows, supports production with timely material supply, and drives continuous improvement across logistics activities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, train and schedule warehouse and logistics staff.
• Monitor stock levels, conduct periodic stock‑takes and maintain the item master file.
• Organise workspaces to optimise picking and packing following FIFO principles.
• Oversee inbound and outbound movements, inter‑plant transfers and implement a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Provide production support through departmental kitting and ensure material availability based on sales forecasts.
• Plan production schedules, manage dispatches and deliver customer support.
• Analyse logistics performance, prepare reports and propose improvements.
• Handle transport documents (DDT, delivery notes, invoices, CMRs) and liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and haulers.
• Manage suppliers and logistics partners to enhance transport and distribution.
• Ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety procedures and proper use of PPE and equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics or materials management, preferably in metalworking, mechanical engineering or automotive production.
• Leadership, problem‑solving and conflict‑management abilities.
• Forklift truck licence.
• English proficiency at least B1 level.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or IBM 400.
• Experience using Warehouse Management and production planning systems.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts (JIT, JIS, kanban, kitting).
• Forklift truck operation.
