Mechanical Design Engineer – Automotive Solutions

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Mechanical Design Engineer to join Intercable Automotive Solutions, a leader in high‑voltage busbar and interconnect technology. In this role you will create innovative mechanical solutions for special‑purpose machines and fixtures, ensuring they meet safety, efficiency and future‑readiness standards. Your work will span from concept development on the computer to hands‑on assembly in the workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop special‑purpose machines and fixtures from concept through series production, including independent design and assembly.
• Support equipment relocations and commissioning at multiple sites.
• Continuously improve existing assemblies and processes.
• Ensure designs comply with safety regulations, industry standards and internal guidelines.

Required profile

• Completed technical training in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Experience in mechanical engineering, toolmaking or machining is advantageous.
• Fluent in German and English; good knowledge of Italian.
• Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team, with resilience and reliability.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
• Proficiency with Cimatron.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
