Mechanical Design Engineer – Energy & Oil Sector

About the role

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a historic client in the European energy and oil sector. The role focuses on designing, drafting, and testing turbo‑machinery products for oil & gas applications, ensuring reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Support design and development of oil & gas turbo‑machinery products for new product development (NPD) programmes.
• Collaborate with business‑unit teams, coordinate design reviews and project reviews, and communicate technical status to internal stakeholders.
• Manage customer technical interfaces, build relationships, and ensure reliable project execution and on‑time delivery.
• Test products, analyse failures, and implement corrective actions for future designs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Fluency in Italian and English.
• Proven experience in product development of turbo‑machinery such as gas turbines or steam turbines.

Required skills

• Creation of 3‑D models and detailed drawings for stator and rotor components.
• Assembly modelling and product documentation.
• Knowledge of gas turbine, steam turbine and related oil & gas equipment.
