Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Sidel is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its mechanical engineering team in Parma, Italy. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of mechanical modules, contributing to an international environment that values innovation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct study phases for parts, sub‑assemblies, and full modules.
• Design components in line with specifications, technical feasibility, assembly, and maintenance requirements.
• Manage detailed tasks autonomously, ensuring adherence to planning and schedules.
• Lead technical problem‑solving activities, including design reviews, qualification reviews, functional analysis, FMEA, and Six Sigma initiatives.
• Guarantee the quality of assembly drawings, design models, calculation notes, and functional analyses.
• Handle non‑conformities using root‑cause analysis (RCA) and define preventive and corrective actions.
• Support the supply chain with accurate information on module industrialisation, resourcing, and derogations.
• Ensure strict compliance with Sidel design specifications, processes, and architecture governance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• Technical institute high‑school diploma is a plus.
• Strong technical expertise in product design, cost‑driven design, and manufacturing processes.
• Good knowledge of material properties and structural analysis.
• Proficiency in English.
