Mechanical R&D Engineer

About the role

Mechanica Sistemi is seeking a Mechanical R&D Engineer to create new concepts and prototypes for mechanical assemblies used in its conveyor systems. The role focuses on designing, testing, and refining components to improve performance, reliability, and innovation across the product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Design and test mechanical components and assemblies within R&D projects.
• Support prototyping activities, build test benches, and collect performance data.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure functional integration of designs.
• Analyze mechanical performance, identify issues, and propose design improvements.
• Document designs, testing results, and technical evaluations for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical design and testing environments.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and drafting tools (e.g., Inventor).
• Strong interest in mechanical innovation and systems optimisation.
• Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work effectively in a team.

Required skills

• Inventor (or equivalent 3D CAD software).
• CAD modeling and detailed drawing creation.
• Mechanical testing and performance analysis.
• Experimental design and documentation of test results.
