MEMS Designer for Inertial MEMS Sensors

About the role

As a MEMS Designer you will join Bosch Sensortec’s Milan Design Center to develop next‑generation inertial MEMS sensors. You will translate customer requirements into mechanical and electrical designs, run simulations, and contribute to algorithm development for design optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design the mechanical and electrical behaviour of new MEMS structures based on specific customer needs.
• Perform model‑based simulations (FEM, MATLAB/Python) to optimise gyroscope performance.
• Develop and improve algorithms for design optimisation and simulation methods.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (ASIC, packaging, project management) to ensure coherent development.
• Analyse cause‑chain effects and support laboratory experiments.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related field.
• Fluent English (minimum B2); German is a plus.
• At least 5 years of experience in MEMS design and model development for inertial sensors.
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a complex development environment.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
