MEMS Designer for inertial MEMS Sensors

About the role

You will work in the Milan Design Center of Bosch Sensortec, designing and optimizing inertial MEMS sensor structures to meet specific customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design the mechanical and electrical behavior of new MEMS structures based on customer specifications.
• Perform model‑based simulations to optimize MEMS gyroscope designs.
• Develop new algorithms for design optimisation and improve simulation methods.
• Collaborate within a cross‑functional engineering team, analysing cause‑chain effects.
• Coordinate design and simulation tasks together with project management and technology development.

Required profile

• Master of Science or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related field.
• Fluent English (minimum B2); German is a plus.
• Autonomous, self‑organised working style with strong presentation abilities.
• 3‑5 years of experience in MEMS design and model development for inertial sensors, including cross‑functional teamwork and lab experiments.

Required skills

• Proficient coding in MATLAB and Python.
• Experience with Finite Element Simulation tools.
• Knowledge of Simulink (preferred).
• Ability to develop and apply algorithms for simulation and optimisation.

What we offer

• Gross annual salary between €50,000 and €60,000 for a 40‑hour week.
