Mixed Secondary Teacher (DoD Overseas Assignment)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Mixed Secondary Teacher to join the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoWEA) for an overseas assignment. The role involves delivering high‑quality instruction to secondary‑level students, supporting their academic growth and personal development while adhering to DoD curriculum standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and organize long‑range lesson plans and daily class work to meet curriculum content standards.
• Select, adapt, or modify teaching methods and materials that best serve the assigned grade levels and subjects.
• Support, counsel, and motivate students to achieve or exceed grade‑level expectations.
• Encourage research skills and utilize summative assessment results to inform instruction.
• Implement differentiated strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including participation in school activities and compliance with DoD regulations.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship.
• Valid, unencumbered state teaching license in the relevant content areas, or equivalent qualifications (Praxis I & II or seven years of Pre‑K‑12 teaching experience).
• Completion of student‑teaching or internship requirements and full qualification standards.
• Ability to obtain required security clearances (Tier 1 investigation with Childcare Checks) and meet mobility and transportation agreements.
• Willingness to serve worldwide and relocate as needed.
