Molding Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Molding Engineer to join the Engineering Department of a leading multinational precision manufacturing company at its plant near Modena. The role combines hands‑on production support with technical leadership to ensure high‑quality injection molding operations in a regulated cleanroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Train and manage Project Engineers, aligning activities with company goals and technical standards.
• Identify mold defects and process issues together with Production Testers and the Quality department, driving corrective actions.
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, troubleshooting molding operations in real time and supporting technicians and operators.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to optimise mould design, manufacturing and maintenance.
• Onboard and qualify new external partners, including toolmakers and technical suppliers.
• Manage tool‑shop partners to ensure quality, timeliness and performance.
• Act as technical liaison between internal stakeholders and external mould suppliers.
• Lead mould trials, validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) and process optimisation.
• Analyse moulding data, implement continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and improve cycle times.
• Ensure compliance with cleanroom standards, regulatory requirements and company quality systems.
• Support root‑cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for production issues.
• Manage design reviews (DFM) for new moulds and products.
• Contribute to the development and standardisation of moulding processes and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in plastic injection molding, preferably in cleanroom or regulated environments such as medical or pharmaceutical.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with analytical skills.
