OCS Specialist – Clinical Organ Care System (Rome)

About the role

The OCS Specialist will support the clinical use of the Organ Care System (OCS) for lung, liver and heart transplants across Italy and, when needed, other European sites. Reporting to the Country Manager, the role combines hands‑on organ preservation work with training, equipment management and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Apply OCS protocols during organ retrieval, preservation, transport and assessment after completing hands‑on training and certification.
• Provide 24/7 on‑call coverage for OCS cases, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Travel to transplant sites within the EU (and occasionally beyond) to support OCS procedures and relay real‑time updates to the EU Clinical Programs team.
• Assist sales and customer teams at national and regional events by delivering clinical expertise.
• Prepare and present internal case reviews and manage OCS equipment at the Rome logistics hub (maintenance, inventory, testing).
• Support site initiation, refresher training and provide clinical guidance to users.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional departments to drive OCS adoption in the Italian market.
• Conduct literature, market and competitive analyses and share findings with management.
• Represent the company at national and international congresses.

Required profile

• Fluent in written and spoken Italian and English.
• Residence near the Rome hub.
• Degree in Techniques of Cardiocirculatory Pathophysiology and Vascular Perfusion (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of relevant clinical experience, or a BSN with experience in CVICU, CVOR, Cath Lab, ED or transplant settings.
• Highly flexible schedule, willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Detail‑oriented, strong organizational abilities and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work calmly in high‑pressure environments and adapt to changing priorities.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and Concur expense management.
