Offshore Construction Shift Supervisor (1st Shift)

About the role

Saipem is seeking an experienced 1st Offshore Construction Shift Supervisor to lead on‑board construction activities. You will coordinate crews, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and act as the key liaison between engineering, vessel staff and subcontractors during your shift.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate work and manpower on board for the assigned shift, adhering to project specifications, HSE and quality procedures.
• Assist the Offshore Construction Manager with interdisciplinary coordination and keep them informed of progress and issues.
• Supervise foremen and supervisors across construction and assembly disciplines, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
• Liaise with the Chief Mate, 2nd Engineer and Vessel Equipment Engineer to align preventive maintenance with construction activities.
• Manage crane operations, ROV launching, underwater tasks and rigging gear inspection.
• Enforce the Permit‑to‑Work system, conduct daily Toolbox Talks and Job Safety Analyses.
• Provide a detailed construction report at the end of each shift and support the Vessel Field Engineer with equipment and consumable tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical or naval engineering (preferred).
• 10‑15 years of offshore construction experience.
• Fluent in Italian and English (B2/C1 level).
