Physics Expert - AI Trainer (Remote, Italy)

About the role

A remote, part-time contract (20 to 40 hours per week) for a Physics Expert who designs training data for frontier AI models. The data is used directly in training and evaluation pipelines at leading AI labs to improve model reasoning in technical domains. The project lasts 2 months, with potential extension, and pays up to 40 USD per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Design advanced physics problems for AI training and evaluation, each with exactly one verifiable correct answer.
• Write complete, verified solutions and document the reasoning process clearly.
• Create problems that test deep physical reasoning and multi-step analysis, not just memorization.
• Use Python or specialized tools where relevant to build simulations, models or computational workflows.
• Ensure all outputs are technically precise, reproducible and well written in English.

Required profile

• Master's or PhD in Physics or a closely related field.
• Strong research or industry experience in theoretical, experimental or computational physics.
• Ability to design original, difficult problems that reflect real physics workflows.
• Nice to have: experience with simulation tools or domain-specific physics software (finite element tools, circuit simulators, symbolic systems); background in computational physics, statistical mechanics, electromagnetism or quantum mechanics; experience evaluating model reasoning or designing technical assessments.

Required skills

• Strong Python skills, with scientific libraries such as NumPy and SciPy.
• Solid understanding of modeling, simulation and numerical methods.
• Technical writing in English.
