Plant Designer

About the role

FICEP S.p.A. is seeking a Plant Designer to join its Sales Engineering Department. You will be responsible for defining plant layouts for the structural steel fabrication sector, supporting both pre‑sales activities and the full production lifecycle of customer orders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Program Managers and the Sales team during the pre‑sales phase.
• Develop, update, and optimise plant layouts, taking into account production flows, internal logistics, safety, and space efficiency.
• Define technical solutions for acquired orders and prepare 2D/3D layouts and drawings for production and installation.
• Liaise with suppliers and technology partners to integrate material‑handling systems and other technical solutions.
• Collaborate with internal departments involved in project management to ensure seamless execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or a technical diploma with relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in technical or design roles within an industrial environment.
• Solid understanding of production and logistics processes in the metalworking industry.
• Ability to read, analyse, and develop technical layouts.
• Strong teamwork skills and the capacity to work independently with a sense of responsibility.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 2D CAD software (AutoCAD).
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks).

What we offer

• Full‑time, day‑shift position on site, Monday to Friday.
• Gross annual salary between €35,000 and €45,000, based on experience and qualifications.
