Plant Senior Technologist

About the role

The Plant Senior Technologist will ensure food technology expertise at Barilla's Novara plant, guaranteeing compliance with quality standards and supporting industrial trials across product and process development.

Key responsibilities

• Define, maintain and improve technological and process standards in alignment with category experts and development teams.
• Monitor packaging line performance, identify deviations and implement corrective actions to ensure quality and reliability.
• Lead process improvement projects, contribute to continuous improvement programs, and propose evolutions to enhance stability and capability.
• Provide technical support for trials on new products, technologies, raw materials and packaging, and conduct root‑cause analyses of process drifts.
• Coach and train plant personnel, fostering a strong technological culture through joint reviews and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, Food/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in technical roles within production or RDQ environments, with proven cross‑functional leadership.
• Fluency in Italian and English and strong communication skills across all organizational levels.

Required skills

• Statistical analysis and data‑driven process evaluation.
• Lean or Six Sigma methodology (training/certification preferred).
• Project management and competence development of technical teams.

• Gross annual base salary of at least €50,000, with potential for higher compensation based on experience.
