Primary Years Programme (PYP) Homeroom Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Primary Years Programme (PYP) Homeroom Teacher to join our international school in Vicenza, Italy, starting August 2026. The successful candidate will create inquiry‑driven learning environments, support student wellbeing, and collaborate with colleagues across the school.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver transdisciplinary PYP units, aligning lessons with the IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning.
• Assess student progress using formative and summative strategies, and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Utilise the school’s learning management system to organise resources, record assessments and communicate with families.
• Collaborate with programme heads and the school counsellor to support student wellbeing.
• Participate in team planning, curriculum development and interdisciplinary projects.
• Serve as a Homeroom Teacher, fostering a positive classroom community and handling supervision duties (lunch, arrival/dismissal, bus, break).
• Attend staff, subject, interdisciplinary and homeroom meetings, and provide cover lessons as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field and a recognised teaching qualification.
• Minimum two years of recent teaching experience in an international or IB school setting.
• Experience or training in the IB Primary Years Programme is preferred.
• Valid right to work in Italy (EU passport or work visa) and clean police background check.
• Excellent English proficiency (CEFR C1‑C2).

Required skills

• Proficiency with a learning management system.
• Ability to integrate digital tools into classroom instruction.
