Process Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Process/Project Engineer to join our strategic product line team in Genoa. You will work closely with the Project Manager and customers to design cost‑effective solutions while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule engineering activities for process projects.
• Participate in kick‑off and technical meetings with clients.
• Coordinate technical information across engineering disciplines (process, mechanical, piping, structural, electrical, automation).
• Develop material and thermal balances using Excel.
• Perform safety analyses of designed installations.
• Create P&IDs and functional descriptions.
• Select commercial equipment (pumps, fans, heat exchangers, valves, instruments) and package units (scrubbers, evaporators, filtration).
• Conduct layout studies and draft technical specifications for mechanical equipment.
• Manage outsourced structural, mechanical, and piping engineering.
• Develop HMI pages and automation documentation.
• Prepare technical specifications and bills of materials for purchase and production.
• Support supplier search, selection, and qualification.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions.
• Provide client training, commissioning, and process tuning up to final acceptance.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably with reheating and heat‑treatment furnace equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and team orientation.
• Willingness to travel worldwide.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Open‑minded attitude and eagerness to take on new challenges.
