Process & Technology Lead – Battery Manufacturing

About the role

System Ceramics is seeking a Process & Technology Lead for its battery manufacturing division. You will take end‑to‑end technical ownership of a turn‑key filling, forming and aging plant for battery cells, ensuring successful industrial implementation and optimal product performance.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical performance of the production process across electrolyte filling, electrochemical formation and cell aging.
• Define, validate and optimise process parameters such as charge/discharge profiles, power management, cycle times and operating conditions.
• Analyse line performance (yield, scrap, electrochemical anomalies) to identify bottlenecks, deviations and integration issues.
• Propose and implement technical improvements based on data and process expertise, adjusting hardware, software and process parameters.
• Ensure robust integration of filling, forming and aging equipment with power supply, automation and control systems.
• Validate alignment between process specifications and supplier solutions, guaranteeing required performance.
• Act as the direct technical interface with OEMs and technology suppliers, challenging solutions and negotiating on solid engineering grounds.

Required profile

• Proven experience in battery cell manufacturing processes, especially filling, forming and aging.
• Deep electrochemical and industrial plant knowledge to drive optimisation and corrective actions.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret yield, scrap and electrochemical data.
• Capability to work as the technical reference within a multi‑disciplinary project.
