Procurement Specialist – Local Sourcing & Logistics

About the role

ABB is looking for a Procurement Specialist to ensure the implementation, maintenance and compliance of purchasing and logistics activities across the business. You will support local sourcing, supplier management and cost‑reduction initiatives while aligning with regional and division strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement plans for local sourcing of products and materials to meet current and future business needs.
• Support alignment between local procurement, South Europe Region and division strategy.
• Assess existing supplier base, identify improvement areas and explore new suppliers to diversify sourcing.
• Collaborate with internal teams to consolidate forecasts and drive cost‑reduction projects.
• Apply procurement standards, tools and processes to secure quality, delivery, cost and sustainability.
• Track procurement activities, generate reports and resolve issues related to cost, quality and delivery.
• Monitor internal and external supplier KPIs and implement development actions.
• Prepare shipping documents, coordinate with couriers and forwarders for road, air and sea shipments.
• Check import‑export customs declarations and support classification of goods according to export control and customs regulations.
• Ensure compliance with EU, shipping and company regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 2 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
• Experience in the logistics industry is a plus.
• Good knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem‑solving and negotiation abilities.
• Fluent in English and Italian.
