Project Engineer – Manufacturing CAPEX

About the role

Exide Technologies is looking for a Project Engineer to support manufacturing engineering activities across its four automotive plants in Europe. You will be responsible for driving CAPEX projects from definition through to start‑of‑production, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the CAPEX process, defining short‑, medium‑ and long‑term investment strategies and aligning them with the annual budget.
• Consolidate monthly CAPEX reporting, ensuring data accuracy and supporting decision‑making.
• Lead project management activities, tracking progress and coordinating with plant teams.
• Manage manufacturing equipment projects, including technical specifications, supplier selection, quotation analysis, procurement, installation, commissioning and SOP hand‑over.
• Conduct technical evaluations, benchmarking and provide recommendations for investment decisions.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives, 5S, quality, productivity, EHS and new product introductions.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (Process, Materials, Mechanical, Chemical or Electronic).
• 2–3 years of experience in process, manufacturing or plant engineering, preferably in the automotive sector.
• Fluent in Italian and English (minimum B2 level).
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of manufacturing processes, machines and equipment.
