Project Physician

About the role

The Project Physician will lead the clinical development of one or more vaccine programmes, ensuring high‑quality data generation and compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and internal SOPs. This permanent, full‑time position is based in Siena, Italy and works within a cross‑functional clinical development team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and set‑up GVGH‑managed clinical trials for vaccine candidates.
• Author and contribute to clinical and epidemiology plans, protocols, Investigator Brochures, study reports and regulatory submissions.
• Provide medical monitoring, review medical data listings and ensure consistency across trials.
• Assess serious adverse events, adverse events of special interest (AESI) and other safety signals as part of the Safety Review Team.
• Support senior project physician in meetings with health authorities and scientific communities.
• Contribute to the creation and revision of SOPs, work instructions and safety standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree (physician) with experience in vaccine clinical development.
• Strong knowledge of GCP, pharmacovigilance and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to lead clinical documentation and safety assessment activities.
• Experience working with CROs and multidisciplinary project teams.
