Public and Digital Investment Specialist

About the role

The UNDP Rome Centre is seeking a Public and Digital Investment Specialist to strengthen its pipeline of climate‑focused, bankable projects. The role will support the Digital Flagship and PISTA programmes, providing technical expertise on investment structuring and post‑origination project management.

Key responsibilities

• Quality‑assure and structure investment packages for climate‑resilient agriculture, smart irrigation, AI and data innovation projects to meet MDB/DFI appraisal criteria.
• Assess bankability, identify gaps, and recommend measures to improve technical credibility, revenue logic, affordability and sustainability.
• Collaborate with DFIs, MDBs and other financing partners to define financing pathways and ensure alignment with Italian and international funding requirements.

Required profile

• Experience in structuring public‑sector and public‑private investment projects for multilateral development banks, development finance institutions or sovereign/blended finance platforms.
• Proven ability to produce executive feasibility studies, investment‑ready documents and to manage post‑origination project phases.
