Quality Control Specialist

About the role

ABB's Distribution Solutions Division in Dalmine is looking for a Quality Control Specialist who reports to the Quality Control Manager. The role covers internal inspection and testing of parts, products and systems so that only conforming items move to the next stage and reach the customer. It is an onsite position.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine internal tests in manufacturing, factory test labs or final inspection, making sure products, systems or software meet requirements and customer expectations.
• Support the final customer through F.A.T. (Factory Acceptance Test).
• Report quality issues and ensure the Quality Management System is followed at every stage.
• Give feedback to engineering and R&D on improvements to product and process design.
• Help improve test protocols and capabilities, and use safety systems to keep the workplace accident-free.
• Train local teams in quality assurance and testing routines and verify they follow the control plans.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, secondary school education or experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical topics, electrical diagrams and testing equipment (scope meters, stabilized power supplies, multimeters).
• Appointment as a PES (Expert Person under CEI 11-27).
• Flexibility in working hours and availability to work shifts.
• Comfortable in a shopfloor environment, with good communication skills and a command of English (B1); Italian is required.
• Valid category B driving licence for use in Italy.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel, MS Office and SAP; Power BI is listed as a plus.
• Knowledge of AI tools such as Copilot, Power Apps, Power Automate and Loop is a plus.
