R&D Quality Assurance Specialist / Officer

About the role

ABB is seeking an experienced R&D Quality Assurance Specialist/Officer to join its Process Control Platform organization. You will work closely with development teams to ensure that products and systems meet the highest quality standards while supporting continuous improvement across the global R&D function.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and manage R&D processes, ensuring consistent reporting and compliance with mandatory procedures and standards.
• Monitor product and system quality by collecting data, defining and tracking quality KPIs.
• Support development teams in applying the Quality Management System and advise on quality‑assurance activities.
• Conduct audits, reviews and random sampling to verify process and product compliance.
• Set and review quality goals for development streams and act as an independent auditor against release criteria.
• Collaborate with the continuous‑improvement team on improvement projects.
• Provide coaching, training and facilitation to teams and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in Science or Engineering (relevant technical field).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management, verification, testing or operational excellence.
• Knowledge of software and/or hardware development processes.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Highly self‑motivated, analytical, result‑oriented and able to handle parallel activities without compromising quality.
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder‑influence abilities.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps.
• Basic knowledge of Power BI.
