Research, Development & Quality Internship

About the role

Barilla’s Global Research, Development & Quality (RD&Q) team is looking for motivated students or recent graduates to join a 6‑month internship starting in September 2026. The placement can be at the Parma headquarters or at one of the Italian plants in Rubbiano (Parma) or Cremona, offering hands‑on exposure to food‑science projects in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day activities of the RD&Q team, including sample preparation, testing, and data collection.
• Assist in the development and validation of new pasta, sauce, bakery, or condiment products.
• Contribute to process‑technology projects, documenting results and preparing reports.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders such as production, regulatory, and packaging teams.
• Participate in internal meetings and present findings to senior scientists.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a scientific programme (Food Science, Food Safety, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Food Law, etc.).
• Strong interest in the food industry and willingness to learn technical project management.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Fluent English and sufficient Italian language proficiency for plant locations.

Required skills

• Basic laboratory techniques and data‑analysis methods.
• Familiarity with food‑safety standards and quality‑control procedures.
